Rebar exports from Turkey rebound sequentially, down on-year
Turkish rebar exports continued their long-lasting downward trend in May, almost halving on-year to 199,435 tonnes. They were, nevertheless, up from 164,300t in April, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish.
Average price was $673/tonne, down from $884/t in May 2022 and $709/t in April 2023.
Israel, a major destination, was the top market in May with 47,998t, up 14.4% on-year. The US followed with 31,645t, down 4.6%.
