Turkey’s pig iron production rises 8.5% in 2015
Turkey’s pig iron output increased 8.5% year-on-year to 10.2 million tonnes in 2015, Kallanish learns from a World Steel Association report.
The country had no pig iron exports last year, while hot metal imports were at 1.2mt. Apparent pig iron consumption thus totalled 11.4mt for 2015, worldsteel says in the 2016 edition of its World Steel in Figures report.
