Turkey’s May wire rod exports slump, imports surge
Turkish wire rod exports continued their on-year slump in May, despite registering a slight rebound from April. They fell sharply to 39,559 tonnes from 105,374t last year, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. They were, nevertheless, up from 26,864t in April.
The average price was $681/tonne, versus $943/t in May 2022 and $734/t in April 2023.
