Turkey's May ore imports slump, China-bound exports surge

Turkish iron ore imports dropped -12% on-year in May to 875,824 tonnes, following their rebound in April, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. Their average value was $88/tonne versus $110/t in May 2019 and $101/t in April 2020. Brazil was the main supplier with 580,247t, up 40% on-year, followed by Sweden with 170,672t, up 14%.
