Europe demand lifts Turkey's May HR flats exports
Turkish hot-rolled (HR) flat steel exports more than trebled on-year in May thanks to a surge in shipments to Europe, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
HR flats exports jumped 241.6% y-o-y to 257,183 tonnes in May. The overall average value/tonne of these exports increased to $543/tonne from $392/t a year ago.
