Turkey's May HR flats imports from Korea plunge
Turkey's hot-rolled (HR) flat steel imports declined further in May as the slump in intake from South Korea offset the surge in shipments from Russia, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
May's HR flats imports stood at 452,316 tonnes, down -8.1% on-year and -0.2% over April. The overall average value/tonne of these imports increased to $651/tonne from $438/t a year earlier.
