Turkey’s Kardemir Haddecilik starts wire rod production
Turkey’s Kardemir Haddecilik Sanayi ve Ticaret, not to be confused with blast furnace-based steelmaker Kardemir, commissioned its wire rod rolling mill on 15 April.
With a production capacity of 750,000 tonnes annually, Kardemir Haddecilik plans to produce 5.5-25mm wire rod and 8-32mm rebar.
The firm started crude steel production in 2022. Its electric arc furnace meltshop has a 1.25 million tonnes/year production capacity (see Kallanish passim).
