Turkish scrap imports grow amid capacity increase

Following their recovery in May, Turkish scrap imports continued to rise in June, growing by 8.7% year-on-year to 1.33 million tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. They were, however, down from 1.809mt in May. Over 99%, or 1.326mt of June imports were obsolete scrap.
