Turkey's pig iron imports in downward trend
In June 2023, Turkey experienced its lowest monthly pig iron import volumes for the past two years, sourcing 58,726 tonnes solely from Russia at an average price of $459/t, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
The June import figure marked a decrease of 69.3% compared with the same month in the previous year and 194.71% from May, when total imports stood at 173,069t, Kallanish notes.
