Turkey’s IDC to double meltshop capacity
Turkish electric arc furnace-based steelmaker Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) says it will increase its capital by 300% to TRY 1,500,000,000 ($211.6 million).
With the funds obtained from the capital increase, the company will settle debts and accelerate its meltshop capacity increase work.
Current annual meltshop capacity is 1.4 million tonnes, while billet requirement is 1.65m t/y. With the planned investment, billet production capacity will be increased by 100% to 2.…
