Turkey's IDC grows sales but expenses hamper earnings
Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) posted a 5% on-year increase in steel sales in the first half of 2018 to 772,118 tonnes, Kallanish learns from the Turkish steelmaker. Exports declined -19% to 190,063t.
The firm’s billet production declined -4% in H1 to 629,395t, but rebar output rose 13% to 508,074t and profile output was up 24% to 134,138t. Rebar production on a contract manufacturing basis increased 4% to 166,726t.
