Russia again drives Turkish HR flats imports growth in August
Turkey’s hot rolled (HR) flats imports increased 33.1% year-on-year to 505,571 tonnes in August as Russia-origin deliveries soared. The average price of these imports dropped to $481/t from $700/t a year ago, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
The rise in imports follows an 82% y-o-y surge in July to 518,341t, which was again driven by Russian supplies.
