Turkey's HR flats exports drop -32% in May
Turkish hot rolled (HR) flats exports decreased -31.8% year-on-year 75,626 tonnes in May as shipments to the USA and the UK ceased and those to MENA declined. The total average value/tonne of these exports fell to $392/t from $469/t, Kallanish calculates from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
The drop follows a -15.8% y-o-y fall in exports in April, when shipments to the USA and Southern Europe plunged.
