Turkey’s economic confidence falls despite consumer, construction improvement
Turkey’s economic confidence index fell in July, by 0.2% to 93.4, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). This was the lowest level since May 2021.
The decline in economic confidence stemmed from the decreases in services, retail trade and real sector (manufacturing industry) confidence indices.
Turkey’s construction confidence index, which was at 83.04 in June, rose by 2.4% in July to 85.0 (see Kallanish passim).
