Turkey’s December iron ore imports drop 33% on-year
Turkey’s iron ore imports decreased -33.1% year-on-year to 746,683 tonnes in December, while scrap imports grew. The average value of the iron ore imports declined to $68/t from $110/t a year earlier, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
The decrease in iron ore imports follows three consecutive months of growth in parallel with a corresponding fall in scrap imports.
