Steel price recovery boosts Turkish production in March
Turkish crude steel production stood at 2.73 million tonnes in March, up by 1.3% year-on-year and 15.2% over February. The recovery in steel prices and margins in recent months has had a positive effect on production, the Turkish Steel Producers’ Association (TCUD) says.
Scrap-based production in the country declined -0.7% on-year to 1.76mt but iron ore-based production increased 5.2% to 970,000t in March, Kallanish learns from a TCUD statement.
