Turkey’s Cemtas posts soaring profit in first quarter
Turkey’s Cemtas produced 45,697 tonnes of crude steel in the first quarter, up from 35,505t a year earlier. Rolled products output was also up, from 33,683t to 41,648t, Kallanish notes.
The company reported a 20.6% on-year increase in sales, with exports up by 37.8% to 11,266t. Domestic deliveries rose 15.2% to 30,233t. The share of exports in Q1 sales was 27.1%, up from 23.8% last year.
