Turkey's billet imports plunge again in March
Turkey's billet imports dropped sharply on-year in March, after plummeting in February, as intake from China ceased and procurement from the CIS decreased, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
March billet imports totalled 156,618 tonnes, down -72.9% y-o-y but up 2.1% on-month. The total average value/tonne of these imports surged to $430/t from $285/t a year earlier.
