Turkey's billet imports plummet in February
Turkey's billet imports decreased notably in February, driven by a slump in intake from China and drop in procurement from CIS, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
February's imports stood at 153,457 tonnes, down -69.7% on-year and -52.1% over January. The total average value/tonne of these imports increased to $430/tonne from $284/t a year ago.
