Turkey's billet imports plummet in 2017
Turkey's billet imports almost halved on-year in 2017 as supplies from China slumped and intake from Russia and Ukraine declined notably, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
Last year's billet imports came in at 2.45 million tonnes, down -46.4% on-year. The overall average value/tonne of these imports increased to $445/t from $330/t the year before.
