Turkey's billet imports halve on-year in August
Turkish billet imports halved on-year in August as intake from the CIS plunged, along with the continued on-year drop in China-origin billet imports, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Instute (TUIK) data.
Turkey's August billet imports fell by -48.5% y-o-y and -14.7% on-month to 173,578 tonnes. The total average value/tonne of these imports increased to $462/tonne from $346/t a year earlier.
