Turkey's billet imports drop continues in April
Turkish billet imports declined again on-year in April, reflecting the continued slump in shipments from China as well as lower intake from CIS, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
April's billet imports stood at 232,193 tonnes, down -28.7% y-o-y but up 48.3% over March. The overall average value/tonne of these imports soared to $418/t from $298/t a year ago.
