Turkey’s August rod imports soar, exports slump
Turkish wire rod exports continued their on-year slump in August, almost halving to 74,008 tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. They were, nevertheless, up from 39,559t in May, 43,966t in June and 50,701t in July.
Their average price was $599/tonne, versus $695/t in August 2022 and $636/t in July 2023.
