Turkey's April scrap imports continue to fall
Turkish scrap imports continued to decline in April. They decreased by 12.7% year-on-year to 1.519 million tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. They were also down from 1.632mt in February and 1.833mt in March.
Over 99%, or 1.515mt, of April imports were obsolete scrap. The average price of this scrap was $436/tonne, down from $441/t in April 2023 and $447/t in March.
