Turkey’s Akçelik acquires Romania’s Tristar Steel
Akçelik, a leading Turkish bright steel producer, has acquired Tristar Steel in Romania, which produces chrome-plated steel and pipe, Kallanish notes.
After acquiring bankrupt German bright bar producer Blankstahlwerk Sindorf in March 2020, Akçelik made it one of the leading bright steel producers in Europe within seven months, the firm says. With the Tristar acquisition, Akçelik is now adding a new unit to its overseas investments.
