Turkey’s absence weighs on scrap prices
The Turkish scrap market has had a slow start to the week, with mill demand absent despite their unfulfilled March-shipment requirements.
Amid subdued steel sales and Asian buyers’ absence due to the Lunar New Year holiday, mills are seen struggling to see any prospects for market revival and are delaying their scrap purchases. On the other hand, they seem content amid the availability of sufficient scrap cargoes in the market.
