Turkey return, Lithuania demand accelerate Polish scrap exports
Polish ferrous scrap exports surged 48% on-year in March to 188,942 tonnes, according to data from Poland’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) monitored by Kallanish. Their average value, however, fell to PLN 1,468/tonne ($393/t) from PLN 1,824/t in March 2018.
The most-exported category was obsolete scrap whose shipments abroad surged 95% to 124,755t. Within this category, HS code 72044990 comprised 101,513t, of which Turkey took in 52,254t cā¦
