Asian slab suppliers gain in Turkey: special report
Turkey imported 213,283 tonnes of slab in October – at an average price of $538/tonne – down 1% on October 2022, Kallanish notes from Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data. However, this was up 10.3% on September.
Turkey is expected to increase slab imports on-year in 2023. This comes after it imported 2,246,395t of slab in January-October 2023, just short of the 2,293,883t imported in full-year 2022.
