Turkey further tightens wire rod import measures
Turkey has further tightened its recently-implemented measure on wire rod imports.
The country imposed an additional duty of $175/tonne on alloyed and non-alloyed wire rod imports for 200 days as a temporary protection measure, effective from 8 January (see Kallanish passim).
Following a new statement published in Turkey’s Official Gazette dated 19 January, the amount of tariff quotas that can be granted in one import licence cannot exceed 200 tonnes.
