Turkey books UK/Baltic scrap at yet lower prices
Two Turkish mills managed to book UK and Baltic-origin scrap at the end of last week at significantly lower prices.This was assisted by a further weakening of the lira and persistently sluggish long product demand continued to bite steelmakers. There was still no sign, however, of a discount for US-origin scrap.
