Tunisia could boost scrap exports this year
The Tunisian government has approved a new law reducing significantly taxes on the export of ferrous scrap, to allow the exports this year to reach 125,000 tonnes, Kallanish learns from sources.
The new law reduces the export tax by a third to TND 90/tonne ($36) and allows an export volume of 75,000t for the local state-owned EAF-based mill El Fouladh and 50,000t for private operators.
