Tulachermet posts record pig iron output in 2017
Tulachermet posted a 3% on-year increase in pig iron production in 2017 to 2.28 million tonnes. This was the Industrial Metallurgical Holding (IMH) subsidiary’s highest-ever annual hot metal output while operating two blast furnaces.
IMH also produced a record 2.83mt of coking coal last year, up 28%, thanks to the launch last May of its Tikhova mine and the second phase of the Butovskaya mine. This made the firm self-sufficient in coking coal supply.
