Trudeau makes steel tariffs' pledge for LNG project
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau dispelled speculation that tariffs on steel imports would weigh down a newly approved liquefied natural gas project by Royal Dutch Shell, Kallanish reports.
The $40 billion LNG project, dubbed LNG Canada and approved by Shell and its partners on Tuesday, will deploy approximately 140 massive steel modules sourced in China. If current import tariffs are imposed, the additional cost could run as high as $1 billion.…
