US truck tonnage rises in January
For-hire truck tonnage rose in January after a slight dip in December, Kallanish learns from the American Trucking Association.
For-hire tonnage increased 2% in January following a retreat of -0.3% in December. For-hire tonnage serves as a bellweather for general economic health, as 70% of all domestic cargo is carried by truck.
