US truck tonnage gears down in September
US for-hire truck tonnage posted a minor loss in September, Kallanish learns from the American Trucking Association.
The association’s trucking index fell -0.9% in September after rising 4.7% in August. The index serves as a general economic bellwether, as 70% of domestic freight is carried by truck.
