Trinecke Zelezarny submits indicative offer for ArcelorMittal Ostrava
Trinecke Zelezarny (TZ) has submitted a non-binding indicative offer to acquire Czech compatriot steelmaker ArcelorMittal Ostrava, a TZ spokesperson tells Kallanish.
ArcelorMittal is divesting its Ostrava subsidiary in order to be able to acquire Italian steelmaker Ilva. There has been talk in recent weeks of TZ acquiring Ostrava in order to ensure the divested steel asset comes under Czech ownership (see Kallanish 17 May).
