Trailer maker Schmitz goes worldwide on steel sourcing
Germany’s Schmitz Cargobull is seeking cooperation with partners that operate internationally and have worldwide sources for steel.
The manufacturer of semi-trailers, trailers and truck bodies uses mainly standard qualities of steel such as S355. It believes that these can be sourced internationally in future at lower cost, according to its head of steel purchasing, Andreas Groll.
