Trade union warns Tata against UK 'fire sale'
The UK’s largest trade union Unite has warned Tata Steel that it should give binding commitments on the future of Port Talbot and its UK steel strip business. This follows media reports that the steelmaker is planning to sell its speciality steels business and tube operations separately. Such a "... fire sale" will leave the flat steel business to “… wither on the vine,” the union says in a note sent to Kallanish.
