Tough competition pushes Turkish merchant bar down further
Turkish merchant bar producers have further decreased their quotes amid weak demand and tough competition.
On Friday, producers’ export quotes were pegged at $730-750/tonne fob Turkey for angles, $740-760/t for IPN-UPN sections, $750-770/t for flat bars, and $740-760/t for IPE sections. Angles were down from $750-790/t a week earlier.
Turkish merchant bar producers are seen competing with each other in order to take a share of the limited demand available. …
