Total US import licenses rise in July
Total US import applications appear to have risen sharply in July, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Total US steel permit applications reached 2.007 million short tons in July, 1.219m st of which were for finished goods. That’s up 44.2% and down -6.9%, respectively, from June’s preliminary tonnages.
Finished products with large individual increases include rebar, up 71%, and tin plate, up 49%.
