Tosyali cuts merchant slab requirement with new EAF
Turkish steel producer Tosyali has contracted UK-based Primetals to design, supply and build an EAF Quantum electric arc furnace complex. Besides the EAF this will have a secondary metallurgy unit and continuous slab caster, the equipment supplier says.
The EAF will have an annual capacity of 2 million tonnes of crude steel, fed with a mixture of ferrous scrap and hot-briquetted iron, and will have low operating costs and CO2 emissions. The complex will also inclu…
