Tonggang demolishes smallest blast furnace
Northern China’s Tonghua Iron and Steel (Tonggang), part of Shougang Group, demolished a 1,060 cubic metre blast furnace in late September, according to the Jilin Development and Reform Commission. The company will lose 800,000 tonnes/year of hot metal capacity as a result, Kallanish adds.
