TMK expands range of pipe with new unit
Russian pipemaker TMK’s Taganrog metallurgical plant (Tagmet) has put into commercial operation a new production area for a pipe end upsetting press, which will increase the range and output of drill pipe.
Thanks to the new equipment, the company can produce drill pipe with a 170mm upset end instead of the previous 125mm, Kallanish notes. The new press will complement Tagmet's equipment fleet for upsetting pipe ends.
