TISCO starts overhaul
Taiyuan Iron & Steel (TISCO) has started its annual maintenance of blast furnace and rolling lines from 16 June, Kallanish notes.
According to the steelmaker, the refurbishment of the 4,350 cubic-metre furnace is estimated to last 97 days. Iron output, meanwhile, may be reduced by around 960,000 tonnes.
Along with the overhaul of the blast furnace, TISCO will also halt one 1,549mm hot-rolling line in July and one 2,250mm hot-rolling line in August. …
