Shrinking demand and Covid-19 hit Tisco Stainless profit
Taiyuan Iron & Steel (Tisco) Stainless Steel Company reported lower 2019 profits, hit by shrinking demand in the machinery industry. Profits have fallen further in the first quarter of 2020, affected by the coronavirus, Kallanish notes.
In 2019, Tisco Stainless produced 10.86 million tonnes of steel, including 4.18mt of stainless steel. Sales volume was 10.11mt, including 3.76mt of stainless steel. The export volume was 939,700t including 697,800t of stainless…
