Tianzhu Steel ignites second blast furnace following relocation
China’s Hebei Tianzhu Steel ignited on Monday the second 1,780-cubic metre blast furnace at its relocated plant in Haigang Development Zone, indicating that the whole plant will soon be fully put into operation.
Combined with the first identical BF commissioned in December last year, the plant now operates 3 million tonnes/year of iron capacity, Kallanish notes. The initial plan had however envisaged full commissioning in July.
