Ternium Mexico restarts Las Encinas mining activities
Ternium restarted iron ore pellet production at its Mexican Las Encinas mine on Wednesday, the company confirms in a statement monitored by Kallanish. The site in Aquila, in the Michoacán state, had been halted since mid-January.
The forced stoppage resulted after people from the local community began a protest calling for Ternium to intervene in finding missing local leader Antonio Díaz Valencia and human rights defence lawyer Ricardo Lagunes Gasca.…
