HBIS orders hydrogen-based DRI plant from Tenova
Hebei Iron & Steel (HBIS) has contracted Tenova to provide a 600,000 tonnes/year capacity Energiron direct reduced iron plant.
This is part of the 1.2 million tonnes/year capacity hydrogen-based steelmaking facility the two firms are working on together, for which they signed an agreement during the 5-10 November China International Import Expo (see Kallanish passim). HBIS initially began cooperation with Tenova on the project last year.
