Tenaris continues to invests in Romanian plant
Romanian seamless pipemaker Tenaris Silcotub is investing in decarbonisation with a new waste injection technology for its electric arc furnace (EAF) in Calarasi, Romania, as part of EU’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme Retrofeed.
The equipment, installed by Italian engineering company More, reduces the plant's carbon footprint by injecting recycled polymers and plastic into the EAF replacing coal, coke and pet coke.
