Chinese rod offers dry up amid rebate uncertainty
China's export tax rebate policy remains unclear, causing wire rod export market participants to stop trading as they await the latest tax rebate notice.
According to earlier market rumours, China’s Ministry of Finance was to release the latest tax rebate policy on 1 April. The export tax rebate for rebar is rumoured to be zeroed completely, while the rebate for wire rod may be reduced to 9%. The policy is said to be effective from 10 April.
